The Leipzig based composer Thomas Hertel, on the PNB- Trio CD:

Wildenguth, Early spring, 2002

Dear Ole,
Thank you for the CD "plakatiere nicht*"! Congratulations! I know of little such balanced music, so fleshed-out, taut. So fragile and stable. As a trio, you’re fantastically well attuned to one another! All three good musicians (and an imaginative tuba player). When I cast about for resonance in a contemporary context or in the past, Feldman comes to mind. The music can also hold its own against Stockhausen’s "Aus den 7 Tagen". Sorry - used to be my gauge back then for intense and poetic improvised music (I’m just that little bit older). The lovely density in #1, the clear antagonism of "smooth and notched time", like a "coming and going", like 3-part inventions. In #2, the quiet, intense music (had the mouthpiece of the tuba been fitted with paper?). The flutter-music in #3 like something between script and cipher (Sufi music). In #4 I was briefly put off by the sudden agitation, vitality, the scales. But only briefly, and again very beautiful the microtonal trills and the intervallic stretto. I will most certainly listen to the music many times (made several first attempts, by the way, but of course, full concentration and quiet necessary - the music wouldn’t stand a chance in the express train, for example).

With all best wishes for the prompt appearance of a producer! And many concerts!
